The Finance Department must prepare an annual financial report as required by law, which is audited by either the Auditor of State or an independent public accounting firm.
The annual audit serves two primary purposes, namely, to provide the public with an objective report of its financial condition and to insure that its financial management practices are in compliance with all the requirements of state and local statutes, regulations, and policies. Once the audited financial report is released by the Auditor of State, it is available on the Auditor of State's website.
These reports can be accessed at
www.auditor.state.oh.us. Click on the Audits tab and choose Search Audits. Put in the city's name and the Audited Financial Statements can be reviewed from the most recent fiscal year to prior years.
