Members of the Traffic Bureau are responsible for the safe movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic throughout the City. They are often involved in traffic surveys and make recommendations for safe movement. The Traffic Bureau investigates fatal accidents, accidents involving City owned units, and any other time that extensive property damage or injury results. Members of the unit are responsible for checking all the accident reports generated by the Patrol Division for accuracy and completeness before the reports are sent to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Columbus. Additionally, the Motorcycle Unit operates under the commander of the Traffic Bureau.
