Parks

Thanks to the passage of Issue 9, the City of Mayfield Heights can initiate the Mayfield Heights Parks Improvement Master Plan, designed in 2015 by an award-winning recreation design firm the city commissioned.  The Master Plan is designed to maximize the current footprint of the park and community center while also expanding the usage of facilities. The plan’s vision has multiple moving parts and includes two phases. Preparations for Phase I are now underway.

Phase I: New Aquatic & Community Center

Our project team for the new Aquatic & Community Center consists of the architectural firm, LevelHEADS; the owner's representative, GPD Group; and AMHigley Co., the construction manager. Meetings will focus on creating a facility our residents will be proud to have in their city. The groundbreaking is scheduled for May 2022, with hopes of opening the facility in May 2023. for more information on the new Aquatic & Community Center, visit the Pool page.

Phase II: Reconfiguration of City Park

With the intent of extending the seasonal use of the park, The Master Plan includes a multi-purpose synthetic turf field, which would accommodate various sports activities for an additional 2-3 months out of the year.  Additionally, Phase II will include updated pavilions, an updated playground, and new park amenities.  Construction of Phase II is planned to begin while Phase I is underway.
