I am concerned for the welfare of the kids, some of whom are 4 years of age and younger. I seek information about having a "slow down for kids" sign, speed bumps, or the like, installed. Thanks, rob wellman

There is a store in the strip of stores behind Sonic that resembles one you would see in a ghetto. It is a resale store. The occupant has hand-painted sign-like information across the windows of the entire store front. It conveys a very poor image in our neighborhood, and makes me cringe each time I drive by the store.
Do we have an ordinance that prohibits or limits hand-painting text on store windows? If not, it might be something to consider for the sake of our neighborhood image.

I think it would be a great green initiative of the community to request a drop off location from the company rust belt riders.
Rust belt riders is a company that collects local compostable materials from individuals to prevent it from entering landfills.
How it Works
Collect your food-scraps at home
Bring food-scraps to a drop-off bin
Unlock bin with your membership combination
Dump food-scraps into the bin and re-lock
Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
more information https://www.rustbeltriders.com/dropoff
There is not a drop-off location in are area nor does the company offer pick-up service in our area. there is minimal cost for the community to maintain this program but it does need a 24/7 access location.
If Mayfield heights participates in this program it can reduce community impact on the environment, increase community awareness and becoming a environmental leader.

The plans for a new community center and swimming pool should take into consideration a future more residents walk, take a bus, or use a bicycle to travel to community locations. The proposed swimming location is further south and east than the current location. I suggest looking for property on Mayfield Road near the Lander intersection. The Mayland Plaza property is not far away.
I remained silent when plans to move the Mayfield Library were developed. Can't walk to the new library location from the Southwest part of the city. Bicycling is to the "new" library is not easy except on weekend mornings.
