Is door-to-door solicitation allowed in the City?: Constitutional law allows door-to-door solicitation. Solicitors must register with the police department and wear identification visible to the public. Soliciting may be done only between the hours of 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visit city hall to register for the "No Solicitors" list. Solicitors may not call upon a residence that is on the list.

2. Where do I get a marriage license?: Marriage licenses can be obtained at the Cuyahoga County Probate Court at 216-443-8920 or visit their County Probate Court Website

3. Where can I register to vote?: You can register to vote online, at Mayfield Heights City Hall, the Ohio License Bureau, or Mayfield Library, or call the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections at 216-443-8683 to have a registration card mailed to you.

4. Where can I get a license for my dog?: Dog licensing information can be obtained from the website of the Cuyahoga County Fiscal Officer. County Fiscal Officer Website

5. When are Council, Board and Commission meetings?: Meetings are held in City Council Chambers at Mayfield Heights City Hall. All meetings are open to the public.
We recommend that you check with City Hall on the day of any meeting that you plan to attend because of possible cancellations and summer recess.

6. Can I get a copy of my birth certificate at City Hall?: Birth certificates must be obtained from the Cleveland Department of Public Health. Department of Public Health Website

7. Can the city stop the cable company from raising fees?: The city has no authority in our cable provider's calculation of rates and/or packaging of their product. The FCC provides a formula by which the cable provider calculates their rates. The city has authority only to verify that those calculations are correct. Cable television is considered a "luxury" item and not necessary for life so there are few restrictions.

8. Where do I vote?: Please visit the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections to find your polling location.
