1. What is the curfew for kids in our City?

Children under 12 shall not be upon the streets from darkness to dawn. Children between the ages of 12 and 15 shall not be upon the streets between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. Children ages 16 and 17 shall not be upon the streets between midnight and 6 a.m. unless accompanied by a responsible adult with a legitimate excuse.

2. Why does it take so long for the traffic signal to turn green?

Stop your vehicle on the thick, white stop bar pained on the pavement or directly adjacent to the "Stop Here on Red" signs in order to activate the signal which is controlled by a loop beneath the pavement.

3. What can I do about my neighbor's dog that barks continuously?

Call the Police Department while the problem is occurring at 440-442-2323. This is treated as a disturbance call. The Animal Warden will follow up after police contact.

4. How can I get permission to park in a handicap parking space?

Forms can be obtained form the license bureau or at City hall to be completed by your personal physician and returned to the license bureau to purchase your placard. You may only park in handicap spaces if you have a handicap placard/plate. There are no exceptions.

5. Can I park in the street until my new driveway is complete?

Special provisions can be made by calling the Police Department at 440-442-2323.

6. Who should I call to report a power outage?

The best point of contact in a power outage is First Energy at 888-544-4877 or City Hall at 440-442-2626. Please do not call the Police Department to report outages. Those lines need to remain open for emergency calls.

7. What are the hours for lawn cutting and related noises?

Such activities are prohibited between the hours of 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. If there is a noise disturbance between those hours, please contact the Police Department at 440-442-2323.

8. Are there overnight parking restrictions in the City?

Vehicles may not be parked on City streets between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.
